Akuvox provided a smart access control mailbox integration solution built around the A08 access control terminal and EC33 controller. The A08 is installed at the mailbox area for resident authentication, while the EC33 supports up to 128 relays, each connected to a designated mailbox lock to trigger its opening. During move-in, mailbox numbers are bound to apartment units and resident credentials are registered, so each resident can unlock only their own mailbox through smart access control.
The sleek, compact A08 access control terminal fits tight mailbox areas while matching modern residential aesthetics. Residents can authenticate through card, PIN, Bluetooth, or NFC on the A08, which instantly triggers the assigned EC33 relay to open the correct mailbox. Physical keys are completely removed from the process, and permissions remain tied to each individual unit for stronger security and better control. The architecture is also efficient for property management. One A08 can connect to multiple EC33 controllers through HTTP, and the EC33 expansion boards can handle large mailbox banks without excessive hardware or deployment cost. Property managers can bind mailboxes to apartments during move-in and update permissions immediately through a centralized database, avoiding key distribution, lost key issues, and manual tracking.
