Akuvox takes data privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how we collect, store and use personal data in all our marketing communications and channels and how you can exercise your privacy rights.

1.1 Akuvox Marketing that Involves Personal Data
AKUVOX (XIAMEN) NETWORKS CO., LTD. ("we," "us," "our," and "Akuvox") specializes in the design, R & D, manufacturing and sales of intercom hardware and software, with headquarter in Xiamen, China. In promoting our brand and product, we adopt various marketing communications and channels including, but not limited to:

1.2 Definition
In this privacy policy, these terms have the following meanings: 


"contact" is a person that contact us through web forms or other communication channels on our websites or exhibitor dashboards that we own through attending certain exhibitions, or a subscriber to our email marketing campaigns. 


"visitor" means any person who visits any of our websites.


"website(s)" means any website(s) we own and operate, such as www.akuvox.com, http://forum.akuvox.com/. 


"personal data" means any information that identifies or can be used to identify a contact or a visitor directly or indirectly, for example first and last name, date of birth, email address, gender, occupation, or other demographic information.

"you" and "your" means, depending on the context, either a contact or a visitor 


2. How, What and Why We Collect
2.1 Website
You provide Akuvox with your personal data by submitting an enquiry through one of our web forms or other communication channels on our websites to get general information about us or our products, to explore possible business opportunities, to seek technical support, to obtain quality-related service, to opt in to receive marketing communications, including information about us, our products, solutions, services, promotions, etc.


The information you provide to us includes:
Contact information: typically your name, email address(es), phone number(s).
Employment information: typically the name, contact details of your employer and your job title.
Other data that you intentionally share or information about you that you voluntarily submit to us. 


2.2 Exhibition
You provide Akuvox with your personal data because of the trade shows that we sign up to attend. You may provide your information to us 1) through one of the web forms on our online exhibitor dashboards or other communication channels provided by trade show organizers; 2) when you give an Akuvox employee your business card during trade shows to get general information about us or our products, to explore possible business opportunities, to opt in to receive marketing communications, including information about us, our products, solutions, services, promotions, etc. 


We may also collect your personal data indirectly from exhibitor directory, which you voluntarily contribute your personal information to and trade show organizers compile for all exhibitors, to explore possible business relations with you and to send marketing communications, including information about us, our products, solutions, services, promotions, etc. 


The information we collect in the above circumstances include:
Contact information: typically your name, email address(es), phone number(s).
Employment information: typically the name, contact details of your employer and your job title.
Other data that you intentionally share or information about you that you voluntarily submit to us. 


2.3 Newsletter
You provide Akuvox with your personal data by opting in to our newsletter to receive marketing communications, including information about us, our products, solutions, services, promotions, etc. 


The information you provide to us includes:
Contact information: typically your name, email address(es), phone number(s).
Employment information: typically the name, contact details of your employer and your job title.
Other data that you intentionally share or information about you that you voluntarily submit to us. 


For newsletter marketing, we use the service of MailChimp, an online marketing platform operated by The Rocket Science Group LLC, a company headquartered in the State of Georgia in the United States. Learn about Mailchimp’s privacy policy here. 


2.4 Social Media
We may also collect your personal data from your publicly accessible social media profile to explore possible business opportunities and to send marketing communications, including information about us, our products, solutions, services, promotions, etc. We will seek your written consent before adopting the above-mentioned processing operations. 


The social media platforms we use include LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

3. Data Storage Security
We take appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data of contacts that we collect from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Newsletter contact lists are stored in Mailchimp with appropriate safeguards from Mailchimp. Only our designated staff for running and maintaining our Mailchimp accounts have access to them, who will keep his/her username and password secure, and never disclose it to a third party unless under the request of the company and with appropriate safeguards and in line with the intended purpose of the collected data. 


4. How Long We will Keep Personal Data
We will not use your personal data for any longer than needed to fulfill the purposes described in this privacy notice or upon your withdrawal of consent on which processing is based. After that, we will delete or permanently de-identify your personal data unless required or entitled by law to retain it, or parts of it. 


5. Your Data Protection Rights
We will act on your request for exercising your data protection rights without undue delay and provide information on action taken on a request to you in a timely manner. 


You have a right to:
Access what personal data we have about you;
Request that we make corrections and additions;
Erase certain parts or all of your personal data;
Restrict the use of your personal data;
Object to the processing of your personal data; 


You have a right to the above-mentioned unless there are overriding legitimate grounds for the processing. And please note that if you ask us to erase, restrict or stop the use of any of your personal data, we may not be able to continue providing services to you. 


6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
6.1 Website
We use third-party tracking technologies on our websites, but Akuvox has no access to data reading or data recording contained in them. We use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google AdWords to gather information such as number of visits on websites, average duration of visit, visitors’ geological locations, information of from which site the user visit our website, device you use to access our websites, your IP address, etc. Learn about Google’s privacy policy here. 


They enable us to analyze advertisement performance and better understand general patterns of visitors using our website instead of behaviors of a particular visitor. We will normally collect and use the personal information for our legitimate interests including maintaining and enhancing user experience, improving advertisement effectiveness and ensuring the security of our websites and for our marketing activities, but not overridden by your data-protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. 


6.2 Newsletter
Our newsletter service provider, Mailchimp, uses cookies and other tracking technologies to collect information of your interaction with an email campaign we send through Mailchimp. This information allows Mailchimp to improve the content and operation of its services and facilitate research and analysis of its services. 7. Changes to this Policy
We reserve the rights to make reasonable changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. All updates and amendments to it are effective immediately upon notice and shall be announced and/or published on our websites or will be brought to your attention in another appropriate ways. We encourage you to review this privacy policy often to stay informed of changes that may affect you.
